This month Todd discusses looking past “likes” in measuring your engagement and interaction on Facebook.
With nearly 700,000,000 users, marketers are realizing Facebook has shifted from opportunity to obligation. As if 700 million users isn't enough, Facebook can tout that those users spend 700,000,000,000 (billion) minutes on its site each month, an impressive stat in a digital ecosystem where content is abundant and easier than ever to consume. However, despite all of this, Facebook made an important observation early on: even though people were spending a significant amount of time on their site, they realized they were spending more time off of it. This acknowledgement was the genesis of Facebook's social plug-ins.

P&G is a global, publicly traded Fortune 500 company, and the largest consumer packaged goods company in the world. They have operations in about 80 countries and approximately 127,000 employees worldwide. With a strong build-from-within program, P&G focuses a great deal of their recruitment efforts on college students and young professionals in the digital sphere, both domestically and globally.
P&G engaged TMP Worldwide to help them demonstrate the size and scope of P&G to this global career seeker pool by making them aware of the challenges and opportunities for entry-level employees at P&G. They also wanted to consolidate all global job sites into a single career site.
TMP accepted the challenge and developed a robust career website for P&G targeting millennials, called ExperiencePG.com, which was launched along with a comprehensive social media brand-building plan that included Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Passive Candidates Are On The Move
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, approximately 13.9 million citizens are out of work. Of those, 6.2 million workers are considered long-term unemployed, having been unemployed for 27 weeks or longer. There are also over 800,000 discouraged workers who may have given up looking for jobs. The unemployment rate is still holding around 9%, but there have been job gains in professional and business services, healthcare, and mining.
