TMP’s Recovery.gov Design Wins Three Awards and Becomes a Webby Honoree
Recovery.gov is the U.S. government’s official website providing easy access to data related to Recovery Act spending. The website design is an Official Honoree for the Financial Services category in The 14th Annual Webby Awards; has won a Gold Addy Award from the Ad Club of Metropolitan Washington; one of five Merit Awards given from Meritalk, a Government IT Network, a 2nd place Gold Screen Award from the National Association of Government Communicators and an Award of Distinction during the 16th Annual Communicator Awards.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 funded over 168,185 awards – all of which are tracked on Recovery.gov. It is the first time this level of transparency has ever been attempted by the federal government. The site's mission is not only to provide the information but also to allow for the reporting of potential fraud, waste and abuse of Recovery funds.
“We are delighted to receive this award for the website, which the Recovery Board believes sets the standard for government transparency now and in the future,” said Board Chairman Earl E. Devaney, in the Recovery.gov press release. “I want to credit Lindsay Wozniak, TMP’s senior vice president, and her design team for outstanding work on this project.”
TMP Government was chosen for this groundbreaking project because of our expertise in digital government outreach communications and award-winning website design. We provided design, usability testing/analysis, content development, data visualization modules, Graphical User Interface (GUI) design, map interface design, IxD and Content Management System (CMS) template designs for the Recovery.gov 2.0 version. TMP Government was part of the team lead by Smartronix, and delivered a world class site in just under two and a half months.
